Things to do on the Estate
Located in the Argyll countryside and close to Tighnabruaich village on the West Coast of Scotland, Ardlamont House stands detached and is an ideal holiday base from which to explore the surrounding countryside, relax and unwind, whilst enjoying the many outdoor activities and wildlife the area has to offer as well as the selection of shops and tea rooms. It also offered a sailing school and golf course, as well as professionally skippered boats taking fishing parties out on day trips. There are a number of walks in the area that take in the panoramic views and some beautiful, unspoilt beaches.

Portavadie Marina & Spa is approximately 10 minutes drive away or if you want to learn to sail Tighnabruaich Sailing School is close by.

Local Produce Village Fair :: On the last Saturday in the month, from May to November, come along to the Kames Recreational Hall for a cup of tea and a wander round the stalls. Picking up a delicious treat isn’t a bad way to spend a Saturday morning!
Kyles of Bute Golf Course :: Enjoy a good game of golf and take in the panoramic views on our local 9-hole golf course.
Boat Trips :: Take a trip aboard ‘Morag‘, a converted motor fishing vessel from Tighnabruaich Pier, where there are regular set departures or you can charter a trip by the hour. ‘Morag’ can carry up to 10 passengers, ideal for that ‘get away’ fishing trip or a purely pleasure trip.
Ornithology & Wildlife :: All around the Estate both Ornithology and Wildlife can be found in abundance. Oyster catchers and Herons are a regular visitor, as are Terns and Gannets. The surrounding woodland areas house Red Squirrels, Roe Deer, Buzzards and Peregine Falcons. Recent sightings of an Otter near to the Beater’s Cottage have been very exciting. With the beach only a short walk away, Dolphins, Seals and Porpoise are regular visitors to our shores.
Diving :: Two historical wrecks are documented in this policy zone. The ‘Moonlight’ lies to the south west of Kilbride Bay and the ‘Sincerely’ was shipwrecked off Ardlamont Point.
